Alex Alexa MediSpa in Hurricane, WV offers Radiesse® dermal filler treatments to men and women who desire to non-surgically rejuvenate their face and hands.
Collagen is the major component of your skin, playing an essential role in strengthening skin, skin elasticity, and hydration of skin. It provides the volume, flexibility, and strength our skin needs to remain vibrant and youthful. With increased age, your body produces less collagen which then leads to dry skin and wrinkles. Along with aging skin, the elements, sun, harsh weather, and other aggressors, also take their toll. With expert injections of Radiesse® administered by Dr. Paul Blair patients can address the loss of collagen and re-hydrate and plump up their skin.
If you are not ready for surgery but are bothered by creases and grooves on your face or you want to minimize the appearance of the veins and tendons on the back of your hands, then Radiesse® treatments may be a good option for you.
What is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is an injectable dermal filler that replenishes lost collagen. This allows the Alex Alexa Medispa patients to attain the natural-looking, healthy skin they desire. The key to Radiesse® is its ability to stimulate the production of new collagen.
Radiesse® is used by Dr. Blair to plump the skin (face and hands) to provide a smoother appearance. Over time, patients find that Radiesse® continues to stimulate the body to naturally increase collagen production which results in natural-looking wrinkle correction and helps reduce the signs of aging.
Radiesse® treatments typically take about 30 minutes and are performed in our Hurricane office by Dr. Paul Blair.
How is Radiesse® Administered?
We will start by numbing the areas of your skin that will be treated using either a local anesthetic of lidocaine or a topical anesthetic cream. Dr. Blair then uses a very small needle to inject the Radiesse® gel into the targeted tissue.
It is normal to experience bruising, swelling or tenderness immediately following your Radiesse® treatment. These side effects should subside within 2 days. Although patients can resume most activities immediately, you should avoid any activity that involves extensive use of the treated areas.
Radiesse® typically provides results that can last for up to 2 years after the gel has been absorbed by the body. Such long-lasting results are possible because the new collagen which was produced by Radiesse® takes its place.
